Overview

This course will provide an overview of the business and legal issues relating to sport organizations (including leagues, venues, and competitors) as an industry, including matters such as intellectual property, corporate organization, sports gambling, media rights, and athlete eligibility.

Who Should Enroll?

Any professional working within a sport organization who desires to learn more about the legal issues within sports business; or any professional that desires a transition into a sports business profession. This course is also for those individuals interested in the actual business activities that make a sport happen.

What You Will Learn:

Learners will understand fundamental legal principles common in business, particularly sport business. Learners will increase familiarity with and understanding of the major issues in sport law and business. You will enhance the ability to “issue spot” when considering sport law and business issues. Overall, learners will have an introduction to sport business and how the industry intersects with unique areas of the law.
